hi,

After defining index on one of my tables it takes some hours to see the result of indexes on queries. for example right after index definition a query which return 50000 records takes 10 seconds to show the result, but after passing some hour same query takes 0.04 seconds for showing result.I was wondering what is behind the scene, for performing what kind of tasks oracle need time, if I know what are they, may be I could speed up the process or at least find the sensible reason for my customer to wait for this actions?

any idea about what going on after index definition?
thanks,
